Flannel Season

Happy Wednesday!

Okay, so I’m obsessing over flannels right now! I have been living in them lately and its so easy to make a casual outfit more stylish by adding a flannel. From just throwing them on with a pair of jeans or leggings or tying them around my waist to add an extra pop, they are definitely my fav right now! This flannel is from Old Navy and they have so many cute ones on sale right now!

This long sleeve tee is awesome and so affordable. It is also from Old Navy and they have it in lots of colors. I think I bought them all! It is SO soft and versatile, and is the perfect length to wear with any outfit! You can make it casual like I did by adding a colored flannel, or dress it up by pairing it with dress pants and a statement necklace. Definitely a staple for your fall and winter closet!

Converses are also a great staple to have in your wardrobe. They are so easy to throw on and head out the door and come in all kinds of different colors, styles and patterns.

In the comments below, let me know your favorite way to style a flannel :)

Have a great rest of the week!

Perfect Fall Lip Colors

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone is having a great first week of October. I am loving all the fall decor, pumpkins and cooler weather. Today, is the first of many beauty post on Sweet & Savvy. Hope you enjoy!

Lipsticks & liquid lips are always a staple in my makeup bag no matter what the season, but as summer shifts to fall and the leaves change, so do my lip colors. Colors change from bright and subtle to dark and sultry. Plums and burgundies become the new everyday lip color and it can bring a bold twist to any outfit!

Here’s what I am loving so far for fall:

Burt’s Bees Lipstick

These are my #1 FAV right now and if any of you love Burt’s Bees products like I do, these will become your new favorite too! They are full coverage and give great color to the lips while being extremely moisturizing and 100% natural. The three featured in this picture are Blush Basin, Nile Nude and Suede Splash (left to right). They have 14 colors in total to choose from and are totally affordable at only $9 dollars. These are a great addition for fall and even into the winter months as the days get colder and your lips and skin get drier. They will keep your lips hydrated and soft while giving a pop of color to your wardrobe. You can get these just about anywhere too!

Nyx Liquid Suede and Nyx Soft Matte Cream

In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with Nyx liquid lipsticks and lip creams. They are another one of my favorites for many reasons. I love the matte look of these, which is very on trend right now, and the selection of colors they offer is amazing. The ones I have been using so far for fall are Soft-Spoken in the Liquid Suede and Cannes in the Matte Cream. Both the liquid suede line and the soft matte creams go on like a gloss but set to a soft matte finish, and are very long-lasting. These are also very affordable at less than $7! With the colors they offer and affordability of these lipsticks, you are sure to find a great color that works for any occasion. These are also very easy to find at most drugstores and beauty retailers.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

I actually got these two from my sister’s lipstick collection. She is more into the liquid lips than the lipsticks, and these are two of her favorites right now! These liquid lipsticks apply opaque and the color payoff is amazing! They dry completely matte and stay on for hours, even through eating and drinking! These products are 100% vegan & cruelty-free, which has become a major factor for her when purchasing makeup and beauty products. These liquid lipsticks are a little harder to get your hands on, and can only be purchased online directly from Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Beautylish. The two colors in this picture are Celebrity Skin and Androgyny. They are also more on the pricier side at $18, but are totally worth it!

Note: All 3 of these brands are Cruelty Free and are not tested on animals.

**Application tips: Some lipsticks and liquid lipsticks can be very drying to lips. My tip is to moisturize with some sort of chapstick or lip balm every night and exfoliate your lips often with a lip scrub.

Olive Green Tunic

Hi there! Hope you are having a great week! Anyone else ready for Friday? This girl is!

So, now that football season has started and pumpkin spice lattes are back... I am officially ready for fall and some cooler weather. Who’s with me? Even though it’s still 90 degrees here in Charlotte and feels nothing like fall yet.

Today, I am talking about this adorable olive green tunic. This is a perfect tranisition outfit to take summer wardrobe to fall. The white jeans and sandals say summer BUT this adorable long sleeved olive green tunic says fall. Plus who really follows the no white after Labor Day rule?

I scored this super cute tunic at Marshall’s for only $19.99 and I wanted to buy it in every color. The ruffles and wide sleeves are one of the many reasons why I am so in love with this shirt 😍 so feminine and boho-ish at the same time. Dress it up or down, either way it will look amazing!

Anyways, look forward to seeing some budget friendly fall fashion coming your way! Hope you all have a fabulous rest of the week!

Thanks for stopping by!

those sleeves though 😍 !!!!

Can't go wrong with Black and White

Hi loves! Happy Wednesday!

This is an exciting week for me because I start my new job tomorrow, my Gamecocks kick off college football tomorrow also and I'm going to Clearwater Florida for my sister’s bachelorette party this weekend!

So in the midst of all that excitement I’m going to keep this post short & sweet and share this super cute black and white outfit with y’all!

These white jeggings are seriously the softest jeans you will every put on meaning you NEED them! And the tank, you need too! It’s a great closet staple & it was only $8 so of course being me, I bought it in about 4 other colors!

Let’s talk about those shoes!!! I have wanted a pair of espadrille wedges for a while now but most of them are SO expensive. NOT THESE! Snagged them for only $35…. what a deal!

Labor Day is this weekend and as we all know the rule “no white after Labor Day” BUT this girl does not believe in that rule. I plan to keep rocking my white jeans. Who’s with me???

Click the outfit details below to see where everything is from!

Casual with a pop of CHEETAH!

Happy Wednesday!

Sorry about my accidental blog hiatus the past couple of weeks. Job interviewing/searching got the best of me. BUT good news! I finally found a job and now I can focus my free time on blogging for you guys! So, let's dig in to today's post.

Today's outfit is focused on these adorable shoes from Old Navy!

Perfect for the everyday errand run or a dressed up tomboy look. I went more casual with this outfit and paired them with my favorite jeans and this new top from Gap. Ya can't go wrong with this tee because it's wearable for two different looks...off the shoulder or just like a regular T-shirt (WIN WIN).

These shoes were a total steal. I found them at Old Navy Outlet for ONLY $17, so of course I had to have them. It's always fun to switch it up by adding some flair and color to your shoe collection especially with these cheetah sneakers!

Thanks for stopping by!

Casual Romper OOTD!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far! I couldn’t resist showing you the look I wore this past weekend for my sister’s engagement party! We had such a fun time celebrating the happy couple and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them. The party was pretty casual and outside, so with it being 90 degrees and above here in Charlotte I went with an outfit that was super comfy and very light weight!

Now, if there is one thing I cannot get enough of it’s rompers. I love them because they are quick and easy while being stylish all in one. You can keep them casual like I did or dress them up.

I stopped by Marshalls the day before the party and picked up this adorable romper for ONLY $14.99. That’s too good of a deal to pass up, am I right??

Oh, and my heeled sandals are from Versona! I’ve been looking for a pair like these for a while now and when I tried these on I HAD to have them. Great everyday sandal and really comfy!

Thanks for stopping by!

my lovely mom and sister! so glad we got to spend the weekend with my mom! (and yes, we all three are wearing rompers & I love it)
can't help but show off my handsome guy!
a little DIY inspo for ya! this hanging photo collage was super easy & cute! all you need is yarn and clothes pins! we hung baby pictures for funny memories mixed with pictures of them throughout the year!

I FINALLY DID IT!

Hey! I wanted take the time in this first blog post to introduce myself and tell you why I wanted to start a blog. Over the past couple years, I have become obsessed with looking at blogs every chance I get. From fashion to fitness, I started to follow so many and love them all! Once I really started to notice how often I was looking at them, I asked myself why can’t I do this? My main worry was always what other people might think if I did. I finally came to a realization and decided that I shouldn’t care about what they think! This is what I am passionate about and I’m finally taking the first step to do it for myself. SO HERE GOES NOTHING! I FINALLY DID IT and I couldn’t be happier.

First off, let me introduce myself and tell you a little more about me. My name is Savanna, which is where the idea for Sweet & Savvy came from. My friends have always called me Savvy as a nickname, so it kind of stuck and made sense to include it in my blog name. I am from North Myrtle Beach, SC and graduated from the University of South Carolina a couple years ago. After living at the beach my whole life and coming back after college, I realized that the job opportunities were pretty limited and I wanted to move somewhere with more potential and possibilities. I had visited my sister many times in Charlotte, NC over the past 4 years, and fell in love with the city, so I finally decided to make the big move with my boyfriend Patrick! I have been in Charlotte for about 3 months now and absolutely LOVE everything about it (besides the fact that most of my family is 3 hours away), but it’s a very quick trip home. I recently got hired to be an associate wedding planner at Love & Honey Weddings here in Charlotte, so I will be wedding planning by day and blogging by night.

What you can expect to see from me?
I follow hundreds of bloggers and always find myself liking so many of their Instagram pics and clicking on their liketoknow profiles to see where they get their cute clothes from. After doing this a ton, I kept noticing that everything I was seeing was WAY overpriced for my right out of college/starting a new career budget (which I’m sure a lot of you can relate to). So my mission became to share with you how I shop within a reasonable budget and still keep up with the latest fashions without breaking the bank. I learned most of this from my fashionable and deal finding momma!! Every time I, my mom and sister (my best friends) are together there’s a good chance you will find us in a mall or outlets. Trust me, it never fails, but it’s our hobby and our bonding time :). We literally have become trained professionals at finding all kinds of deals & rarely ever pay full price for anything! I cannot wait to share with you our budget friendly finds!

In addition to my fashion posts, you can also expect to see some fitness stuff. Everything from recipes, workouts, and my experience with being an online Beachbody fitness coach. It has really opened my eyes to how much more we can learn about our bodies and the importance of having a healthy diet. My current workout program is the 21 Day Fix mixed with Insanity Max 30, and of course I drink LOTS of Shakeology. So expect to see recipes and how you can make extra money by simply working out and drinking Shakeology every day! It’s simple, but so rewarding and I am excited to share this opportunity with you!

So that’s a little bit about me and what you can expect to see in my blog. I hope you LOVE it and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram too so you won’t miss my posts!
